The UFC again finds itself without a light heavyweight champion due to an injury. The latest news from Jamahal Hill is that he suffered a ruptured Achilles Tendon that will require surgery, which has resulted in him vacating his world title.
While no official statement was made on how or where the injury occurred, speculation has been that Jamahal injured himself during a celebrity fighter basketball game in Las Vegas held during International Fight Week.
Jamahal who won the belt after it was vacated by Jiri Prochazka stated in a youtube video that he will be vacating the belt rather than holding onto it during surgery/rehab in an effort to give other fighters the opportunity at gold like Jiri gave him.
With Jamahal vacating the belt that leaves Bellator MMA Champion Vadim Nemkov as the World Undisputed Champion at 205lbs.
