Cris Cyborg most recently celebrated a Birthday turning 40 years old. With the Birthday she sat down with Brazilian MMA outlet Combate and gave an interview where she discussed her final plans in Combat Sports before an eventual retirement. Speaking with reporter Vitoria Lemos, Cyborg said that she originally planned to retire in 2025 however has decided to push those plans back in order to fulfill the remaining 2 bouts on her PFL MMA contract, stating that once the contract is finished she will retire.
The longtime Mixed Martial Arts Champion is the sport of MMA’s only 5 promotional champion with PFL MMA, Bellator, UFC, Invicta, and Strikeforce Championships on her resume during. career with 17 World Championship victories. Cyborg went on to say that she still very much loves competing in MMA but that there are other things she wants to pursue and achieve.
Passionate about animals and the owner of a large ranch in her native country of Brazil, Cyborg spoke with Combate about returning home to Brazil and pursuing a degree from veterinary school following her retirement from MMA. Cyborg went on to say that following her next 2 PFL MMA fights it is time for her to focus on the next chapter of her life and her family, noting that she has been living in the USA for a long time very far from both her mother and father.
Cris Cyborg who is currently undefeated while competing in the sport of Boxing at 7-0 is expected to make her return to the PFL for a fight against Sara Collins who became the Bellator MMA #1 contender after disposing of Leah McCourt in her main event Bellator London fight last year.
