One final training session, the last round of sparring, that was all it took and Charles Oliveira will miss out on his UFC 294 showdown  against Islam Makhachev in Abu Dhabi as the Chute Boxe star sustained a cut over his eyebrown requiring stitches and taking him out of the main event championship title fight.

Another last minute change up occurred to the fight card as Paulo Costa suffered a surgery in his elbow that would not allow him to get clearance by the commission in time to still compete against Khamzat Chimaev and that long time Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman would be stepping up on short notice to challenge Chimaev with the winner facing Sean Strickland for the UFC Middleweight Championship next.

Johnny Walker will face Magomed Ankalaev while other stars including Said Nurmagomedov will face Muin Garurov, Tim Elliott against Muhammad Mokaev, Mohammad Yahya against Trevor Peek, Javid Masharat facing Victor Henry, Abu Azaitar agaisnt Sedriques Dumas, Mike Breeden against Anshul Jubli, Nathaniel Wood X Muhammad Naimov and VIctoriia Dudakova faces Jinh Yu Frey.
