In the lead up to LFA 184 much of the talk from American Top Team fighter Nathan Ghareeb seemed to appear that he felt over looked by the UFC despite the face he had a 9-2 record with 4 consecutive finishes on his record. Perhaps a casualty of the PFL/Bellator MMA merger, Ghareeb has been looking for another fight on the regional scene before he was expected to sign with the UFC or another Major promotion.
While Lerryan Douglas was considered a +300 underdog by some betting sites, it was his left hook that changed the course of the fight. After a slow first round which saw Ghareeb effectively use his kicks and range to give Douglas trouble managing the range and distance needed to counter with his punches.
An inadvertent groin kick in round 2 allowed Lerryan an opportunity to recompose himself as he immediately came out of the re-start as a more aggressive fighter. Landing a series of violent punches and stalking Ghareeb against the fence, Lerryan Douglas officially scored the standing KO at .45 seconds of the 2nd round to improve his record to 10-5 as a pro with his last two victories by way of violent KO.
