Dione Barbosa makes UFC debut in Brazil Vs Ernesta Kareckaite

Dione Barbosa will officially be making her UFC debut after capturing her UFC contract with a DWCS victory back in September over Rainn Guerrero with an impressive armbar submission.  Barbosaa who is a BJJ Black Belt and a former Brazil Judo National Team member will make her debut against the Lithuanian kickboxing champion Ernesta Kareckaite at UFC 301 which will take place in Rio De Janeiro and also features bouts with Paul Craig X Caio Barralho and Joaquin Silva X Drakkar Close already announced.

Barbosa who is a main training partner for Cris Cyborg and a member of the King’s MMA fight team under Mestre Rafael Cordeiro will look to showcase her well rounded Muay Thai, judo takedowns, and lightning submission against the predominately known for striking.

Barbosa who alongside Cris Cyborg filmed the Technique Thursday video series for the Premium membership on the site.  Speaking of the matchup Cyborg had this to say, “Dione Barbosa has been in world class competition her entire life and grew up in martial arts.  She has the ability to be a UFC Champion one day.”
