The stage is officially set for UFC 333: Volkanovski vs. Evloev, taking place Saturday, October 24, at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Friday’s official weigh-ins confirmed both championship fights, with featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and undefeated challenger Movsar Evloev successfully making weight ahead of their highly anticipated main event.
The co-main event featuring UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan and former champion Merab Dvalishvili also received the green light, setting up a championship trilogy between two of the division’s most accomplished competitors.
Of the 28 athletes scheduled to compete, 27 successfully made weight. The lone exception was women’s strawweight Nicolle Caliari, who missed the divisional limit by 4.5 pounds.
Alexander Volkanovski vs. Movsar Evloev: Featherweight Championship Official
UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (28-4) stepped onto the scale at 144.5 pounds, comfortably making the championship limit of 145 pounds.
His opponent, undefeated contender Movsar Evloev (20-0), weighed exactly 145 pounds, officially confirming their five-round championship encounter.
At 38 years old, Volkanovski continues to demonstrate why he is considered among the greatest featherweights in MMA history. The Australian champion enters Saturday’s contest looking to add another successful title defense to his remarkable résumé.
Evloev, meanwhile, presents a significant challenge. The 32-year-old Russian has remained undefeated throughout his professional career, including 10 victories inside the UFC Octagon.
Known for his relentless wrestling, positional control, and technical discipline, Evloev will attempt to dethrone one of the sport’s most experienced champions.
The matchup represents a classic championship confrontation between an established legend and an undefeated challenger seeking his first UFC title.
Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili 3: Bantamweight Championship
The UFC 333 co-main event features another compelling championship storyline as Petr Yan (20-5) defends his bantamweight title against former champion Merab Dvalishvili.
Both athletes officially weighed 135 pounds, making their five-round championship trilogy official.
The rivalry enters its third chapter with the series tied at one victory apiece.
Dvalishvili captured their first meeting in March 2023 with a dominant wrestling-heavy performance. Yan responded in December 2025 at UFC 323, reclaiming the bantamweight championship with a decision victory.
Saturday’s third encounter will determine who wins the series while also establishing the immediate direction of the UFC’s 135-pound division.
Yan’s precision striking and defensive improvements will once again be tested against Dvalishvili’s relentless pace, takedown attempts, and extraordinary conditioning.
