UFC 295 was another historic night for the UFC as the promotion made it’s return to Madison Square Garden in New York for an event that was originally scheduled to be headlined by Jon Jones Vs Stipe Miocic at Heavyweight before injuries forced Alex Pereira against Jiri Prochazka as the main event for a vacant light heavyweight title fight.
The Co Main event was Tom Aspinall against Sergei Pavlovich for an interim UFC Championship which was created while Jon Jones recovers from a recent surgery, although the immediate plan is a reschedule of Stipe Miocic instead of a matchup against the much younger and undefeated Tom Aspinall who defeated Sergei Pavlovich via 1st round KO.
Alex Pereira a former Middleweight UFC Champion moved up to LightHeavyweight and the difference in weight class made no difference in his power as he ultimately won teh fight via KO over Jiri Prochazka. With the win Alex Pereira captured the vacant LHW belt making him a 2 division UFC Champion in the sport of MMA> Pereira is also a 2 weight diviison GLORY KICKBOXING champion. Jamahal Hill was cageside.
Jessica Andrade used strong punches and timing of distance and space to capture a 2nd round TKO victory over Mackenzie Dern who showed some positive signs on the feet during striking exchanges but lacked proper defense and head placement. It was only a matter of time until Andrade put together the final combination of strikes to earn the TKO victory.
