Do you really think we will see the return of “Rowdy Ronda Rousey” to the sport of MMA? Retiring in 2016 after back-2-back knockout losses the now mother of 2 has not competed in Mixed Martial Arts in over 9 years, which makes many wonder why she would chose to come back to combat sports now. Ronda who previously claimed to have retired from professional WWE wrestling due to headaches and CTE type symptoms related brain injuries recently spoke to reporters about a possible return.
According to Rousey, no fight is ever truly retired…however she didn’t explicitly say that she was returning. The former UFC Champion stated that she was getting back into the gym, with rumors fueling from fans with her constant gym updates on social media. Rousey responded on the breakfast club by saying “Mike Tyson coming back and being the biggest fight of last year just kind of proves that I don’t think anyone’s ever really done.”
Tyson was 58 years of age and returned for a pro boxing fight against Jake Paul in a fight that was shown on Netflix around the globe. Rousey is now 38 years of age says “I have a cage in my garage. It’s not like I went anywhere” laughing before saying “I really did mosey on out there. It’s really awesome I get to be kind of a spoiled brat now where I’m like ‘I just want to build a cage in my backyard and bring my friends over todo some Karate.” A life long martial artist Ronda Rousey was the first American to win Judo medal in the Olympics before becoming a Strikeforce and ufc bantamweight champion.
Fans have often speculated on how a fight between Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg would have went in their primes. Do you believe Ronda Rousey has anymore professional fights left in her? Would you like to see her and Cris Cyborg finally compete in the cage?
