Sheetara Mayra Bueno Silva continues to prove critics wrong as she makes her march towards a UFC Bantamweight Title Shot. Facing Holly Holm at UFC Fight Night 49 she was the #10 ranked Bantamweight while Holly Holm who accepted the fight on short notice was ranked #3.
Sheetara who spent time training in Huntington Beach, CA earlier in her UFC career before heading to Florida and ATT had a slow start in the first round as Holly Holm controlled the distance and used blitz’s to put the fight against the fence.
Moving into round 2 Holm attempted to keep the same strategy although this was when she placed Mayra Bueno Silva against the fence before losing her posture and submitting to a modified cross choke known as a “ninja choke”.
With the win Sheetara is now 6-2-1 in the UFC and winner of the Dana White contender Series in Brazil winning the 1st season and the 1st episode. Cyborg who defeated Holly Holm in 2017. With the loss Holly Holm fans to 8-7 overall in the UFC.
