Amanda Serrano continues to make history and has become Undisputed Champion after capturing the WBA, IBF, IBO, WBC, and WBO Featherweight Championships with her decision victory over Erika Cruz to become Puerto Rico’s first unified undisputed Female boxing world champion. The Co Main event of the evening featured Alycia Baumgardner facing Elm Mekhaled as she defended her WBC, WBO, IBO, WBA and IBF super featherweight belts.
The event took place at the Madison Square Garden Theater and was promoted by DAZN Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing and Jake Paul with Most Valuable Promotions. Eddie Hearn announced that Amanda Serrano will be rematching Katie Taylor in Ireland later this year. The first fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor was contented in front of a sold out Madison Square Garden becoming the first Women to headline the stadium.
Cyborg appeared in a movie with Amanda Serrano back in 2016 called Fight Valley which also featured Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, and both Amanda and her sister Cindy Serrano appeared in the movie. The movie unfortunately didn’t do as well as the career of all the combat stars as it is currently rated with a 2.7/10 on IMDB. Holly, Miesha, and Cris all captured UFC Championships while Holm, Cindy, and Amanda captured belts in boxing with Amanda becoming undisputed and champion in 7 different weight classes. Cyborg who is MMA’s only Grand Slam Champion is currently 2-0 as a pro in boxing.
