The 2024 Professional Fighter’s League has officially come to a close with the season finale taking place on Black Friday in Riyadh Saudi Arabia as the event was held at the King Saud University stadium. The main event featured Timur Khizriev put on a dominant display against former PFL tournament champion Brendan Loughnane to secure his million dollar check. The Co Main event featured undefeated Dakota Ditcheva defeat top 10 world ranked flyweight Taila Santos via a 2nd round KO. Dakota won the PFL European title last year before moving to the Global series brand and securing her first million dollar paycheck.
Dovlet Yagshimuradov who came over in the Bellator MMA acquisition secured a fast 58 second KO of Impa Kasanganay to win his first world championship. Shamil Musaev used a third round TKO to get the win against his fellow Russian opponent Magomed Umalatov. Gadzhi Rabadanov defeated former Bellator MMA Champion Bret Primus with a third round KO while heavyweight Denis Goltsov put his opponent Oleg Popov to sleep with a triangle choke to finally win his first PFL Champioship after 4 consecutive tournaments.
With 4 out of the 6 Champions coming from the country of Russia, fans have to wonder if an event in Russia is in the plans for the Professional Fighter’s League who have thus far madet hemselves a middle eastern based promotion with shows in Saudi Arabia, and an upcoming “Road to Dubai” taking place in the UAE Next month. While there have been other PFL shows in Europe, fans have to wonder with so many Russian champions if the promotion is looking to move into that region with a TV deal or site fee to host an event.
