Cris Cyborg brings Austrailan Muay Thai legend John Wayne Parr to her gym to train for Cat Zingano

With an expected announcement that Cris Cyborg will be facing Cat Zingano sometime this fall coming soon,  Cyborg has brought in one of the All Time Greats in the sport of Muay Thai to help her prepare and strategies for a matchup against a southpaw like Cat Zingano.

Cyborg who’s most recent professional boxing match came against a southpaw named Gabby Holloway who lost a decision in MMA to Cat Zingano was able to drop her opponent in boxing with a body punch in the 3rd round, will be able to utilize all of the strikes from Muay Thai which include kicks, elbows, knees, and clench work into her MMA fight.

JWP who has 99 documented career win in Muay Thai is also a professional boxer who most recently defeated Australian Boxing legend Anthony Mundine to improve his pro boxing record to 11 wins with only 3 defeats.  Training with such a veteran Cyborg had this to say, “I’m excited to have Wayne here teaching me some tricks and techniques to use against a southpaw.  I feel confident heading into this fight that she is going to have a problem with me in the standup striking areas, besides JWP I am flying out several grappling partners from Brazil and will be ready October.”
