
The Professional Fighters League continues to announce big news as they help grow the sport of Mixed Martial Arts globally by servicing markets in need of MMA content. July 26th 2025 PFL will make history with the first PFL Africa headlined by PFL Championship series taking place at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town South Africa.
With PFL Chairman Francis Ngannou leading the way the PFL Africa 2025 tournament will have four events across the continent and will feature 24 of the top fighters from over 14 different African countries. Broadcasted on Canal + the event will be featured throughout the continent in French language.
The PFL Champions Series World Title fights will be Johnny Eblen Vs Costello Van Steenis and a Co Main event of Dakota Ditcheva taking on Sumiko Inaba. The inagural PFL Africa Tournament will feature 8 man brackets in each weight class starting with the Heavyweight and bantamweight divisions. Full tournament schedule and host cities are TBA.
Cris Cyborg who is a 17x MMA World Champion and the first PFL Female Super Fight Champion had this to say about the companies expansion into Africa, “I have visited several countries in Africa including 2 complete fight training camps in South Africa.
