Cody Garbrandt will get a shot at redemption after all! The UFC announced that a rematch between current UFC Champion TJ Dillashaw will face former champion Cody Garbrandt in a bantamweight class targeted for Aug 4th in LA at UFC 227. Ariel Helwani was the first to report the confirmed booking after weeks of speculation.

Dillashaw had been campaigning for a super fight against Mighty Mouse for the UFC 226 card going down in Las Vegas this July, however that matchup is now off the table, and he will be facing former Alpha Male teammate Garbrandt next. TJ won the first fight with a 2nd round KO and despite the fact that Garbrandt never successfully defended the belt he will be given an immediate rematch
Dillashaw has won 7 out of his last 8 fights and has wins over Renan Barao, John Lineker, Raphael Assuncao and Cody Garbrandt during that run. Prior to the loss to TJ Dillashaw Garbrandt was undefeated as professional in MMA with a perfect 6-0 record in the UFC including a dominate win over Dominick Cruz.
