After a year outside of the cage, Kayla Harrison is set to make her return this Friday as she faces UFC veteran Aspen Ladd in a feature fight during the PFL fighter’s season finale Pay Per View event live from Washington DC
Kayla who beat Larissa Pacheco twice in 2019, lost the trilogy fight 3 years later. Rather than rematching Pacheco, Kayla will be facing a short notice replacement in Aspen Ladd while Larissa Pacheco competed in the 2022 season and will be battling Bellator MMA veteran Marina Mokhantkina for the first ever 145lbs championship tournament belt.
Kayla was originally scheduled to face former Bellator MMA Champion Julia Budd at 145lbs, however despite Aspen Ladd not asking for a catchweight fight, the promotion made the bout 150lbs when Julia Budd was released from the promotion.
With the recent acquisition of Bellator MMA, PFL fans are expecting to see a matchup between Cris Cyborg and Kayla Harrison finally take place. Currently Cyborg has not commented on the merger saying, “After the announcement nobody from PFL has contacted me or my team. I think the next step is a phone call between us.” Wether Cyborg will continue her career in MMA after the merger still remains unknown.
