When it comes to greatness few names have the same prestige as the Ali name. Muhammad Ali left a legacy that went far beyond the sport of Professional Boxing as he crossed over into a true cultural icon.   Ali’s daughter Laila would go on to further the lasting legacy of the Ali name as one of the first major pioneers for women in professional boxing.  Having used her platform to build a stage for other women to follow in her steps, Laila Ali has branched out into mainstream with appearances on major broadcast networks for projects far outside of her fighting career.

While the Self Proclaimed “GWOAT” Claressa Shields has feuded with Laila Ali, the daughter of Boxing’s greatest fighter has avoided any public responses, until now.  Taking to her YouTube Channel Laila Ali spoke of her books, modeling, culinary projects and more as she addressed the rumored “15 million dollar fight offer”.  After listening to Claressa Shileds say she was “Just Ali’s Daughter” and that “Ann Wolfe would have knocked her out”– Laila went on to reply by saying she is not going to let someone with bad character speak bad about her name.

Bringing receipts in the form of old videos and interviews Laila went. back to 2018 as the time where Claressa Shields started using her name to build visibility and public persona. Laila went on to explain why for several years she had never responded to Shields’ professional and personal attacks saying that she has always carried herself with composure and responsibility.

Do you think we will see the 47 year old Laila Ali return to the boxing ring? Do you believe Claressa Shields has been able to secure a 15 million dollar fight purse?  Fans will remember how Claressa Shields tried to build her brand off Cris Cyborg when she signed with the PFL before ultimately deciding she no longer wanted to fight in Mixed Martial Arts.  While Claressa Shields challenged Cyborg to a fight at 154lbs,  Cris Cyborg is currently ranked top 10 in the world at that weight class and undefeated while Claressa Shields has ballooned to 175lbs heavyweight division.
