Undisputed Junior Featherweight Champion of the world, that is what Naoya Inoue became after his crushing punch landed in the 10th round of his championship fight against Marlon Tapales in Tokyo Japan.  After breaking down his opponent, Inoue used a pair of right hands to finish the fight dropping Tapales to one knee giving Inoue his second undisputed championship in teh past 12 months.

Undefeated in 26 fights and with 23 KO’s Inoue is a generational talent known for the power in both of his hands.  Announcing after the fight “I think (Junior Featherweight) is my weight class for now so, in 2024, I would like to show myself at (Junior featherweight) in even stronger form. Inoue said through a translator.

Inoue became undisputed at 118 pounds last December with an 11th round KO over Paul Butler and now adds the 122lbs undisputed belt to his resume after capturing the WBO and WBC belt against Stephen Fulton before defeating Tapales to capture the WBA and IBF belts.  “The Monster” Naoya Inoue is one of the biggest stars in all of Japanese combat sports.
