Legends Never Die| Cris Cyborg Vs Sara Collins PFL MMA Lyon France

It was once said that a legend isn’t born when they lose, but instead that is when they are born!  Cris Cyborg will be returning to the PFL MMA Cage tomorrow morning in the USA (watch the fight live on the ESPN APP) for a chance to make MMA history.  Having competed in 20 World Championship fights in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, Cris Cyborg is the only fighter male or female to capture 5 promotional world championships including the PFL MMA Superfight, Bellator MMA, UFC, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce Championship belts.

With a victory tomorrow over Sara Collins who is currently ranked 3rd in the world at 145lbs, Cris Cyborg will again make history as the only Champion in MMA with 17 Career World Championship victories.  Making her debut in 2005 Cris Cyborg lost her first MMA fight to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Erica Paes before going on an incredible 13 year unbeaten streak that was eventually broken when she suffered an upset loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 in 2018.

Unable to secure the rematch with Amanda Nunes after campaigning for the better part of a year for that fight, Cris Cyborg eventually finished her UFC contract with a victory over the number one contender Felicia Spencer before leaving the promotion as a Free Agent.

While the UFC seemed to struggle to build a 145lbs division, Cyborg found a new home with Bellator MMA where a Champion named Julia Budd already held the world championship belt.  Returning to the same arena where Cyborg suffered an upset loss to Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg put on a dominate performance winning the Bellator MMA Belt with a 4th round TKO victory.  It has now been 7 years since Cyborg’s loss to Amanda Nunes, a period where she has remained undefeated and managed to capture the PFL MMA Superfight title with a 5 round decision over Larissa Pacheco in Saudi Arabia.
