The Professional Fighters League continues to sign and re-sign their top free agents.  It was announced by PFL MMA CEO John Martin that former Bellator MMA Champion Johnny Eblen has signed a new long term, multi fight contract with the organization.  No details about the contract where released by sources say it was a multi fight, multi year deal. Eblen who is 16-1 is a former Bellator MMA middleweight champion after defeating MMA legend Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 282.  Johnny Eblen then went on to defend his Bellator MMA Championship on the PFL Battle of Giants event held in Saudi Arabia last year.

Looking to capture the inaugural PFL MMA Championship Johnny Eblen was seconds away from becoming the promotions champion after being ahead on the score cards heading into the final 1o seconds of the last and final 5th round before Costello Van Steenis pulled off the come from behind victory to hand Johnny Eblen his first career defeat with a rear neck choke which Eblen refused to tap from and ultimately went to sleep.

Eblen took to X which was formerly known as Twitter to state “I have unfinished business to attend to.”  With the PFL MMA heading to Spain later this year fans are anticipating a rematch between Johnny Eblen and Costello Van Steenis.  Now 33 years of age, Eblen is entering into his athletic prime.  With the signing PFL MMA has continued to secure their top talent during free agency including recent signings of Dakota Ditcheva, Vadim Nemkov, and AJ Mckee.

Cris Cyborg who is the only champion in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts to win 5 world championships with the 5 major MMA promotions including PFL MMA, Bellator, UFC, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce had this to say about the signing, “I love fighters like Johnny Eblen who have an exciting fan favorite fighting style.  I’m happy to see the organization keep their top talent and I can not wait to see his next fight.”  Cris Cyborg returns to MMA action Dec. 13th with a World Championship fight against the number 3 ranked Sara Collins who is undefeated as a professional in MMA after a 10 year career on the Australian National Judo team.
