After capturing the UFC LightHeavyweight Championship it now appears as if Jiri Prochazka will be out of action for an extended period of time as Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Champion sustained a serious injury and as a result of that is going to be Vacating the title.
Jiri was scheudled to defend his belt in a rematch against Glover Teixeira however with the last minute change of opponent Glover declined the Dec. 10th fight date. A new matchup between Ex Champion Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankaleav has now been announced for the new LightHeavyweight Championship.
With Vadim Nemkov recently defeating Corey Anderson to capture the Bellator LHW Grand Prix in defense of his World Title, many fans including Sherdog.Com now rank Bellator MMA’s Champion as the #1 LightHeavyweight in the world. With Blachowicz Vs Ankalaev already scheduled that bout just bumped into the main event of UFC 282
