Liz Carmouche seems to have found her groove entering rounds 4 and 5 of her championships career.  With initial World Championship fights against Marloes Coenen in Strikeforce and Ronda Rousey for the inaugural UFC Bantamweight belt, Carmouche left the UFC following a decision loss to Valentina Shevchenko despite being 1-1 with the dominate champion.

Leaving the UFC Carmouche signed with Bellator MMA as a free agent where she captured her first world championship defeating Juliana Velasquez of Brazil before defending that belt 3 total times until Bellator MMA was acquired by the Professional Fighter’s League.  Entering the PFL Flyweight tournament in 2024 Carmouche suffered a decision loss to eventual finalist Taila Santos after back-to-back wins over Juliana Velasquez and Kana Wantanabe.

Entering the PFL tournament for the second time, Carmouche found herself against Jena Bishop in the finals and put a spectacular exclamation point on her performance with a 3rd round KO over the BJJ Black Belt opponent.  With the victory Liz Carmouche made history as the oldest Female World Champion in the history of Mixed Martial Arts having turned 41 on August 15th the week of the fight. Most fans speculate that Liz Carmouche X Dakota Ditcheva is next.

Other big winners included Alfie Davis who was a 10-1 underdog against Gadzhi Rabadanov, Marcirley Alves capturing the bantamweight tournament and the 500K bonus, Rbert Watley gave Mads Burnell his second consecutive loss, Juliana Velasquez picked up a decision over Ekaterina Shakalova, Biaggio Ali Walsh picked up a KO, Sabrina De Sousa improved to 4-0 against Saray Orozco, Renat Khavalov picked up a KO, Chris Milan via GNP, Damion Nelson with a split decision over Isaiah Diggs opened the nights action in Charlotte North Carolina.
