All is fare in love and war however it appears things are smoothing over in the sport of Boxing between Jake Paul and Matchroom. With a formal request and a dismissal the two have reached terms on an agreement leaving the lawsuit dropped in federal court.
In paperwork that was filed in New York with the United States district courts attorneys for both parties requested the dismissal after they previously issued a notice of a settlement agreement having been reached.
According to the filing: “It is hereby stipulated and agreed, by the undersigned counsel of record for the parties herein, pursuant to Rule 41(a)(1)(ii) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, that the above-captioned action is dismissed with prejudice and without costs or fees to either party.”
On March 18th attorneys for Paul and Matchroom notified the court that a settlement had been agreed and that all parties would be filing for a dismissal. In the initial lawsuit Matchroom alleged Paul made defamatory statements when he implied the promotion had bribed a boxing judges.
