The UFC already settled on one lawsuit, and now it appears that Dana White is going to have to appear in court and testify under oath during the latest preceding. Dana White and the UFC’s vide president of athlete compliance and regulatory affairs; Tracy Long are going to have to appear at a hearing with judge Richard Boulware sometime between February. 4th and the 5th. The reason for the hearing will be to discover spoliation which is defined as the act of destroying or otherwise supressing evidence.
The order is in regards to the antitrust lawsuit filed by UFC fighter Misha Cirkunov with the goal of getting fighters who have arbitration clauses in their contracts to be included in a class action suite. The suit claims the contracts delay fighters from ending their contracts or unlawfully waive their rights to be involved in class actions against the promotion.
The UFC is supposed to provide information regarding fighter pay and how contract negotiations occurred.
