Boxing might be back in the biggest way it has ever been. With a feud that started between two fathers, promoters matched up Chris Eubank Jr against Conor Benn in a fight which had the entire world of Boxing captivated. Eubank who entered the fight 34-3 as a professional had a significant size and experience advantage over Conor Benn who entered the fight undefeated at 23-0
The bout which saw Conor Benn move up 2 weight classes took place at 160lbs and featured a 10 pound rehydration clause. Eubank who missed the contracted weight by .005 pounds was fined over half a million dollars from his estimated total purse of over 15 million dollars which was scheduled for a 60/40s plit in favor of Eubanks Jr.
The fight delivered on the hype as a rumored 1 million international PPV buys took place to watch Eubank Jr win a unanimous decision with a 12th round that could have been in any of the ROCKY Boxing movies. The bout is an early contender for Boxing fight of the year. Cyborg will make her return to professional boxing May 17th in San Jose California as the CO Main Event of San Jose Fight NIght III Taking place at the Tech CU arena In San Jose California.
