On the latest “The Catch Up” interview session with top Canadian MMA reporter James Lynch, Cris Cyborg revealed that she is waiting for Cat Zingano to sign the fight contract for a Bellator MMA Championship bout.  Cyborg said “You know Me and Cat Zingano are supposed to fight already, but I am waiting for her to sign the contract fort his fight to happen.  Scott Coker knows I’ve been talking about this fight, and he has been talking about this fight too.  I’m just waiting to sign the deal.  I know Cat Zingano is trying to make this personal by saying “Cris doesn’t do drug tests”, but I have been doing drug tests both in and out of competition. It’s just an excuse. This is just going to make it harder for her, she is only motivating me to keep training and Train hard. I’m ready. Anytime she signs the deal this fight is going to happen.”

Zingano who is undefeated outside of USADA testing, struggled while enrolled in the Anti doping program going 1-4 while being tested for performance enhancing drugs.  Since removing herself from the USADA testing program Zingano has gone 3-0 in the Bellator MMA program and is currently ranked as the #1 contender despite her only win against a Ranked Bellator MMA featherweight coming by decision against the #5 ranked Pam Sorenson who is currently 9-5 as a pro with Sorenson’s only win in the promotion coming against Roberta Samad via Split decision.  Zingano’s other two victories came against Gabrielle Holloway who is no longer in the promotion after only having 2 wins during her last 7 bouts and Olivia Parker who has lost3 consecutive fights and currently sitting with a 4-3 professional record.

Zingano who will be 41 years old in July was once considered one of the top female fighters in the sport.  While competing outside of the USADA program she was able to pick up victories over top ranked fighters Barb Honchak, Carina Damm, Takao Hashi, Raquel Pennington, Miesha Tate, and Amanda Nunes however since that time the combined record of all the opponents she has defeated is 28 wins against 22 defeats.

Cyborg who is the only Grand Slam Champion in the sport of MMA after winning Championship belts with Bellator MMA, UFC, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce will be a heavy favorite against Cat Zingano when the bout finally takes place most recently won an 8 round professional boxing debut against former Brazilian National Boxing champion Simone Silva went on to say that she took the Boxing fight because Bellator MMA has had a difficult time getting Cat Zingano to agree to fight terms.  Will fight fans finally get an opportunity to watch this super fight or will Cat Zingano look to finish her Bellator MMA contract without giving the promotion the fight for which they signed her to compete for.
