Brendan Allen stops RDR at UFC Fight Night 262

Reinier De Ridder headed into UFC Fight night 262 in British Colombia Canada with an opportunity to secure a UFC title shot, however after a 4th round TKO when the corner of RDR threw in the towel it is now Brendan Allen who has stolen the momentum as the veteran handed RDR his first UFC loss after a 4-0 start in the promotion with wins over Robert Whittaker, Bo Nickel, Kevin Holland, and Gerald Meerschaert.   The former 2 division One Championship star will now look to rebound after the Brendan Allen stoppage.

Brendan Allen has now won back to back UFC fights after consecutive decision losses to Anthony Hernandez and Nassourdine Imavov. The Co Main event saw Canadian Mike Malott pick up a decision win over UFC fan favorite Kevin Holland. Aiemann Zahabi picked up the biggest win of his career as Marlon Vera lost a split decision.  Vera has now lost 4 out of his last 5 fights.

Manon Fiord picked up a first round win over Jasmine Jasudavicius, Charles Jourdain defeated Davey Grant by guillotine choke. Kyle Nelson scored a decision over Matt Frevola.  Drew Dober with a TKO in the third round over Kyle Prepolec.Qileng Aori defeated Cody Gibson at 21 seconds of the first round,  Bruno Silva, Jorden Santos, Stephanie Luciano, Yousri Belgaroui, and Melissa Corden picked up wins on the UFC Canada fight card as well.

The Candian crowd enjoyed the UFC event.  Cris Cyborg was the Co Main event in Canada with UFC 240 when she defeated Felicia Spencer to finish her UFC contract.  Cyborg would go on to sign the biggest guaranteed contract in the history of women’s MMA when she signed with Bellator MMA.  Now the premier female fighter in the Professional Fighters League Cris Cyborg is set to fight Sara Collins at PFL MMA Lyon France.
