Amber Leibrock of team CSA got a statement win at PFL 2 as she landed a thudding head kick KO of former Muay Thai Champion Martina Jindrova at 2:19 of the first round to score a quick pick 6 in the PFL’s season format of the Women’s Featherweight tournament.  Leibrock who has faced top WMMA talent such as Megan Anderson, Arlene Blencowe, Janay Harding during her career has proven herself as a dangerous striker with a 37 KO over former National Judo team member Marina Shafir who is currently in the AEW professional wrestling world.

Julia Budd lost for her third consecutive time to PFL Lightweight Tournament champion Larissa Pachecho, although Budd showed great improvements from her previous performances and was able to win the ‘A.I. Scorecard’ inside the PFL Smart Cage.  Other female featherweights who picked up victories included Marina Mokhnatkina who defeated Japan’s DEEP featherweight champion Yoko Higashi, Evelyn Martins, and Olena Kolesnyk.  The PFL is the only MMA league with a regular season and a playoff system and currently airs on ESPN and ESPN +

PFL 2 in Las Vegas also featured the Men’s Heavyweight division as fighters Danilo Marques of King’s MMA secured a win over Yorgan De Castro.  Maurice Greene, Rizvan Kuniev, and Bruno Cappelozza picked up victories to start the Heavyweight tournament where the winner will be awarded a million dollar prize at the end of the regular season and the playoffs.  PFL 2 also featured a showcase bout featuring Muhammad Ali’s grandson ‘Biaggio Ali Walsh’ who picked up the TKO victory over Isaiah Figueroa.

Noticeably missing from the PFL Women’s Featherweight tournament is former 2x Champion Kayla Harrison.  A Judo Gold Medalist 2x in the Olympics and a 2x PFL tournament champion Kayla Harrison has been vocal about her desire to face Cris Cyborg.  With Cris most recently attending PFL in Las Vegas, there has been some speculation that the only Grand Slam Champion in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts could be facing Kayla Harrison in a possible super fight.  Kayla who has antagonized Cyborg through her free agency is coming off a loss to Larissa Pachecho and has not fought since Nov. of 2022.
