The UFC returned to the Arena CDMX in Mexico City headlined by their former UFC Champion Brandon Moreno facing a late minute substitute in Lone’er Kavanagh in the main event. While Kavanagh had to fill in on short notice due to injury to an injury to Asu Aomabayev who was the original opponent scheduled to fight Brandon Moreno.
Moreno accepted the shot notice opponent change as Kavanagh was coming off. a 2nd round KO loss to Charles Johnson back in August of 2025. Moreno unfortunately was the slower more stationary fighter and lost a decision following the 5 rounds of action despite being the favorite. Kavanagh is now 10-1 as a pro while Moreno falls to 2-4 in his last 6.
16,454 fans in place this was the first UFC event in the past three years to not be announced as a sellout crowd with approximately 3,000 tickets remaining unsold. The Co Main event featured David Martinez putting on a display performance against Chito Marlon Vera who lost the decision and has now lost 4 in a row and 5 of his last 6 bouts.
King Green scored a crushing KO over Daniel Zelhuber, Edgar Chairez, Imanol Rodriguez, Santiago Luna, Ryan Gandra, Ailin Perez, Christian Quinonez, Javier Reyes, Regina Tarin, Francis Marchall, and Damian Pinas also picked up victories at UFC Fight Night Mexico City.
