Everyone knew this fight was going to be a war, you had Jim Miller a veteran of over 30 fights and Dan Hooker a veteran trying to climb the ranks. Miller who has lost his last 3 fights was facing a surging Dan Hooker who has won 3 out of his last 4 including wins over Marc Diaries, Ross Pearson, and Mark Eddie inside the octagon.

With losses to Jason Knight and Yair Rodriguez by decision it seemed the clearest path to victory for Jim Miller was to try and grind out a victory over Dan Hooker who’s last two wins came via decision over Thiago Alves and Joe Lauzon after a TKO win over Takanori Gomi at UFC 200. A fourth loss in a row is hard for anyone to keep their uFC contract
This fight did not disappoint, Jim Miller who was fighting in front of his home crowd was able to get a takedown early against Dan Hooker, however the longer rangier fighter started setting up his strikes on the right side, with a knee to the face Hooker took out Jim Miller. During the post fight speech Dan Hooker called for a fight with Paul Felder for a fight next.
