2x All American collegiate wrestler and LFA Lightweight Champion Richie El Machete Miranda joins Cris Cyborg training camp

Cris Cyborg gets set for an opportunity to win her 18th World Championship fight, something no fighter in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts has accomplished.  A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Cris Cyborg will be facing an undefeated fighter currently ranked 3rd in the world at 145lbs named Sara Collins Dec. 13th in Lyon France.  Sara Collins was a member of the Australian national Judo team for 5 years before starting her MMA career and at 35 years old has is entering her competitive prime riding victories against three straight opponents ranked top 10 in the world.

To prepare for the grappling heavy Sara Collins, Cris Cyborg is working with LFA Lightweight Champion Richie El Machete Miranda who is a SoCal fan favorite.  Born and raised in Santa Ana California Miranda wrested at Segerstrom High School before becoming.a 2x All American wrestler at Santa Ana College in the 149 and 157lbs divisions.  Following his Juco career Miranda transferred to the University of Nebraska-Kearney as a member of their wrestling team.  12-1 as a professional Richie Miranda became LFA Champion defeating Richie Lewis who in 2017 became the first American to win a U23 World Medal after winning the gold medal at 165lbs.

Cris Cyborg lost her first professional fight in 2005 before going on a historic 13 year unbeaten streak which saw her capture the Strikeforce, Invicta FC, and UFC World Championships at 145lbs before her shocking upset to Amanda Nunes Dec. 2018.  Unable to secure the rematch, Cyborg finished her UFC contract with a victory over Felicia Spencer before eventually winning the Bellator MMA and PFL MMA SuperFight Championship Belts.  Currently in the midst of another 6 year unbeaten streak Cyborg has racked up wins against notable opponents like Julia Budd, Arlene Belncowe, Cat Zingano, and Larissa Pacheco during that period going 8-0 in MMA and 7-0 while competing in Boxing.
