UFC releases Matheus Nicolau, Robelis Despaigne and several other fighters

Robelis Desbaigne entered the UFC with a ton of momentum after 5 first round KO’s and an 18 second uFC vicctory at UFC 299 however with back-to-back defeats against Waldo Cortes Acosta and Austen Lane.  While an exciting striker, Desbaigne showed significant need to improve his wrestling before being ready for a UFC level opponent.

Matheus Nicolau is still ranked top 10 in the UFC, however that wasn’t enough to keep his job as the Brazilian gets his release after thress straight losses to Almabaev Asu, Aex Perez, and Brandon Royval.  The 31 year old had won 7 out of 8 UFC fights prior to his last 3 defeats.

Perhaps the biggest name released was Jessica Penne a former Invicta FC champion at atom weight was released at 41 years, Penne won 4 out of her last 10 fights. With fights against Karate Hottie, Randa Markos, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and Tabatha Ricci, Jessica Penne fought many of the regions best.
