Melody Popravak was a highly touted amateur in the USA boxing program before making her Pro debut in 2021 with a 1st round KO over Nina Gallegos. Facing a fellow USA boxing standout in her second fight in Kaitlin LaVigne, Popravak lost a split decision against an opponent she had previously defeated in the amateurs via split decision after 4 rounds of action.
After almost 2 1/2 years out of the ring Melody Popravak made her return against the standout Olivia Curry from Chicago at the Miccosukee indian Gaming Resort in Miami Florida. With a mixed score card of 57-57, 56-58, and 58-56 the card was officially announced as a split draw after 6 rounds of action.
As Cris Cyborg has been competing in professional boxing at 154lbs both of these opponents in Olivia Curry and Melody Popravak could be future opponents as the MMA Grand Slam Champion looks to continue establishing herself inside the sport of professional boxing. Cyborg who unfortunately had her Apri 27th return to Boxing postponed after promoter Salomon Becerra canceled the bout, has not made any announcements if MMA or Boxing will be her next move.
