It does not seem that long ago that UFC President Dana White was promoting Kamaru Usman as the “GOAT” at Welterweight, even implying that the Nigerian American may have surpassed the credentials of Canadian Mixed Martial Arts fighter George St Pierre after wins over Colby Covington, Gilber Burns, Jorge Masvidal, Tyron Woodley, Rafael Dos Anjos, Sean Strickland, and a young Leon Edwards back in 2015 however after back-to-back defeats to Leonw Edwards it is difficult to continue with that argument.

Edwards who KO’d Usman at UFC 278 followed that performance with a dominating win at UFC 286 by decision in the main event of his fight in the O2 arena in London England. With the fight Rocky has now gone undefeated since his first loss to Usman defeating Rafael Dos Anjos, Donald Cerrone, Vicente Luque, Nate Diaz, and Usman twice during his 11-0 win streak.  When asked if he would fight Colby Covington on the MMA Hour the defending Champion said that he would need another victory before accepting that matchup.

Justin Gaethje picked up a win over Rafael Fiziev in FOTN efforts while Jennifer Maia stopped the surging Casey O’neil ending the prospects undefeated streak.  Gunnar Nelson and Marvin Vettori both returned to the win circle and Jack Shore made an impressive debut at 170lbs.  Veronica Hardy beat former TUF Champion Juliana Miller, Joanne Wood picked up a split decision victory and Muhammad Mokaev showed everyone how tough he was not submitting to Jafel Filho kneebar after it appeared to tear all the ligaments in his knee just for him to earn a submission victory. Christian Leroy Duncan or CLD made his debut with a win and Jake Hadley had a strong TKO performance.
