
Jorge Masvidal may have retired from the UFC but he certainly is not done in the world of combat sports. Having transitioned from active MMA fighter into Combat Sports promoter, Jorge Masvidal has done professional boxing, and bareknuckle MMA with great success. Having already promoted Junior Dos Santos against Fabricio Werdum in Heavyweight action, the winner JDS will now wait for the outcome of tonights fight between former IFL Champion and UFC legend Roy Nelson who will be facing former UFC contender Alan Belcher in a bareknuckle MMA bout with the winner to face JDS for Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA event.
Taking place in Alan Belcher’s home state of Mississippi the fight will mark a return to MMA for Belcher who’s last fight was a TKO loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 159 in 2013. Still only 39 years old Bencher has competed in bareknuckle boxing during his MMA retirement. Roy Nelson while 47 years of age will have a significant weight advantage over Belcher in the Heavyweight division. Nelson is a bareknuckle MMA veteran having beaten the 11-1 heavyweight prospect Dillon Cleckler by TKO at GFC 4
The fight card will feature a mix of UFC, Bellator MMA, and PFL veterans. Hector Lombard who is 34-10 as a pro will be facing the 1-0 Chris Sarro, Francisco Trinaldo will fight Sasha Palatnikov. Brandon Davis, Chase SHerman, Carl Seumanutafa, Curtis Millender, Joel Bauman, Jason Knight, and Randy Costa, and alex nicholson, are just a few of the names from those promotions who will be competing
