Dione Barbosa picked up her first UFC win less than 2 months ago as she secured a decision victory in Brazil. Now the former King’s MMA fighter who has recently relocated to Las Vegas Nevada will continue her UFC journey with a showdown of UFC Veteran Miranda Maverick after Maverick’s opponent Tracy Cortez got bumped for a fight against Rose Namajunas.
Maverick is 6-3 in the UFC with back-to-back wins over Priscilla Cachoeira and Andrea Lee. Barbosa scored a decision over Ernesta Kareckaite and had a win over Rainn Guerrero in her DWCS debut last september. The main event of UFC Vegas 94 will be Amanda Lemos agaisnt Virna Jandiroba with a fight between Brad Tavares and Jun Yong Park aslo scheduled.
Barbosa prior to moving to Las Vegas was one of the main grappling partners for Cyborg as she prepared for fights against Leslie Smith, Sinead Kavanagh, Arlene Blencowe, and most recently Cat Zingano. Cyborg who has won 2 boxing fight since the Zingnao matchup is expected to return to MMA against PFL Champion Larissa Pacheco for an opportunity to make her the first champion in the sport of MMA with 5 World Championship belts.
