Every week MMA’s only Grand Slam Champion, Cris Cyborg joins one of Canada’s top MMA reporters, James Lynch on “The Catch Up” a weekly show where the two are able to talk about sports, life, pets, and more updating everyone on CYBORG NATION with the latest in news and opinions directly from the champ’s mouth herself! Following her impressive and dominate performance at Bellator 259 Friday night against Leslie Smith, Cris Cyborg became the only MMA fighter in the history of the sport to successfully defend UFC and Bellator MMA world championships.
Following the victory Cris Cyborg took the center of the cage and said “you can not be a GOAT if you are afraid of the CAT”–seemingly a respectful way of calling for a matchup against the undefeated Bellator MMA fighter Cat Zingano, the last woman with a victory over UFC Double Champion Amanda Nunes who picked up the upset victory over Cris Cyborg three years ago without giving the champion an opportunity to rematch the bout, despite having gone more than 13 years undefeated.
Dana White continues to block Cyborg’ as it was revealed fight week that Dana White himself was the person who put a stop to the talk of a possible submission grappling match between Cris Cyborg and Newly returning UFC fighter Miesha Tate, the former champion revealing that the UFC president forbid her from having an opportunity to compete outside of her contract. Cyborg ends the episode by discussing Thursday Night’s NCF event which will be live and free here on Cris Cyborg.com
