Cris Cyborg continues to push the boundaries of technology and engagement with her fans and has officially become the first MMA Mixed Martial Arts fighter to register on the decentralized social network known as NOSTR: a simple, open protocol that enables a truly censorship-resistant and global social network.
Nostr is a protocol that was designed for simplicity and the goal of it’s creation was to develop a censorship-resistant global social network. The protocol it was written on is considered basic by tech terms and uses elliptic-curve cryptography for keys and signing (think Crypto) with the only supported transport being web sockets connections from clients to relays.
Why do we need another social media network like Nostr?
Social media is a broken system for sharing key information globally. It uses your attention to sell ads, takes advanced techniques to keep your addicted, boosts and hides certain posts based on their “secret algorithm” and is overrun with spam and bots. If you are ready for a new social network check out NOSTR and Follow Cris Cyborg!
