Anthony Joshua car accident in Nigeria with 2 fatally injured

Tragic news this Holiday week as media is reporting that Former Heavyweight World Boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been involved in a car accident in Nigeria which has resulted in his injury and the death of two others.  According the Reuters News Joshua has suffered “minor injuries” when an SUV he was riding with collided into another car on the Nigeria Ogun State region.  Joshua who was not riding in the front seat when the accident happened suffered minor injuries while two others are reported to have been killed.

Early reports are linking the names to Joshua’s strengths and conditioning coach and t=personal trainer.  According to a release from Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps it is being reported that the car traveling with Anthony Joshua was speeding and lost control into a stationary vehicle which was parked alongside the road.  “The primary causes of the card being excessive speed and wrongful overtaking constitute serious traffic violations and remain among the leading causes of fatal road crashes on Nigerian highways writing the NFRSC on social media platform X.

Video has been shown that appears to be Joshua being helped from a vehicle immediately after an accident.  According to the BBC the Boxer was inside the vehicle for nearly 10 minutes following the crash before regaining his consciousness and exciting the vehicle.   Anthony Joshua just scored a 6th round KO over Jake Paul Dec. 19th in Miami and was in the country celebrating holidays as his parents are British Nigerian.
