Fans of Cris Cyborg have been asking for an Amanda Nunes superfight ever since Nunes called Cyborg out for a fight. Even though they are both Brazilian Champions Amanda Nunes has asked for the opportunity to step up and fight Cris Cyborg. Cyborg who has accepted the bout with Nunes was unable to make it happen at UFC 222, and subsequently will now wait for Amanda Nunes to attempt to defend her belt May 12th in Rio De Janeiro Brazil at UFC 224.
Nunes who hasn’t fought since September when she won a very close and controversial decision against Flyweight Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 215. Cyborg on the other hand has fought 3 times in 7 months. If Nunes is able to extend her 6 fight winning streak, fans are hopeful the two will face each other during International Fight Week in Las Vegas at UFC 226 July 7th.
If Amanda Nunes is unable to fight July 7th or loses at UFC 224, Cyborg has told media that her management has plans to try and secure a bout with Australian Megan Anderson who has been sidelined with personal issues.
