Vergil Ortiz Jr back with a big KO win

25 years old and 20-0 with 20 Ko’s Vergil Ortiz Jr is considered the future of the sport of Boxing and he stepped back into the ring in Las Vegas to earn a quick stoppage win over Frederick Lawson after nearly 17 months outisde of the boxing ring.

With Ref Tony Weeks stopping the bout following a flurry of punches against the ropes that followed up on a jab that appeared to rock Lawson the fight was officially stopped at 2 minutes and 33 seonds of the 1st round

Starting with March 2022 Ortiz has had to deal with health issues related to rhabdomyolysis a condition that occurs when damaged muscle tissue releases it’s proteins and electrolytes into the blood.  Ortiz returne dSaturday at 156 pounds for a catchweight bout with renowned trainer Robert Garcia back in his corner after a 2021 split.
