After 19 years as a professional in MMA, veteran Mike Pyle made the announcement yesterday on Ariel’s MMA Hour that win or lose he will be retiring following his fight Saturday at UFC 222 in Las Vegas at the Tmobile Arena. “Quicksand” Pyle will look to add one more win to his 27-13-1 record when he faces Zak Ottow this weekend.
A True veteran of the sport Mike Pyle fought for the UFC 19 times and fought in various promotions like Strikeforce, Elite XC, WEC, IFL, GRACIE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP, Sport Fight, and M-1. Facing a who is who of MMA legends Pyle has fought guys like Rampage Jackson, Andrei Semenov, SHonie Carter, Matt Horwich, Jake Shields, Brian Gassaway, Brock Larson, Chris Wilson, Jake Ellenberger, John Hathaway, Ricardo Almeida, Josh Neer, Ricky Sotry, Matt Brown, Jordan Mein, Colby Covington, and Sean Spencer.
Facing Pyle across the ring Saturday will be Milwaukee Wisconsin’s own Zak Ottow who is currently 2-2 in the UFC with wins over Kiichi Kunimoto and Josh Burkman. With tough experience in the Legacy Fighting CHampionship, King Of the Cage, and North American Fighting Championship, Ottow is no stranger to strong competition.
