Cris Cyborg will be returning to where it all started as she again looks to climb the top of another mountain Sept. 25th when she makes her professional boxing debut as the Co Main event of the Fight Music Show 2 taking place inside the Arena Da Baixada which is the same venue the champ made her UFC debut when she faced Leslie Smith in a 140lbs catchweight super fight at UFC 198. Things will be bit different for Cyborg this time as she will be stepping on the scales at 154lbs as she competes for the Fight Music Show SuperWelterweight Professional Championship against a veteran of almost 40 professional Boxing Fights Simone Silva.
Simone Silva is considered a bit of a pioneer in Brazil for Women’s Boxing having had almost 300 rounds of professional Boxing experience at the highest levels, Silva won the Brazilian National title in 2007 and since that time has represented the country of Brazil internationally in Professional Boxing against many of the sports top champions including; Amanda Serrano, Tiara Brown, Shelley Vincent, Ikram Kerwat, Maricela Cornejo, Hyun Mi Choi, and Jessica Camara. Simone Silva has fought for a World Champions 4 different times in her professional career.
For Cris Cyborg this will be the first time she has ever entered into a boxing ring, as an amateur or a professional. While the Champion is known for her striking in MMA and has notable wins over former World Boxing Champions Holly Holm (UFC) and Arlene Blencowe (Bellator MMA), she has never competed in rounds of 2 minutes, which is the length of professional women’s boxing.
