Tecia Torres is getting set to fight former Straw weight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC on FOX 30 which is taking place inside the Scotiabank Saddeldome in Alberta Canada. Torres who is 10-2 overall lost a unanimous decision to Jessica Andrade in February after winning 3 in a row with wins against Michelle Waterson, Juliana Lima, and Bec Rawlings after a disappointing loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC on Fox 19

Speaking to MMA Fighting, Torres had this to say, “I THINK WITH HER [JOANNA JEDRZEJCZYK] SAYING THAT GIRLS SHOULD STILL CONTINUE TO BOW DOWN TO HER, I THINK THAT’S KIND OF STILL HER NOT BEING AS HUMBLE AS I BELIEVE SHE SHOULD BE. ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING DEFEATED TWICE BY THE SAME PERSON. I THINK SHE SHOULD GIVE ROSE [NAMAJUNAS] MORE PROPS BECAUSE ROSE DESERVES TO BE THERE AND SHE’S BEEN A GREAT CHAMPION SINCE I DON’T KNOW HOW LONG SHE’S BEEN THERE, A YEAR NOW OR WHATNOT.BUT I DON’T KNOW, IT’S KIND OF FUNNY WHEN SOMEONE WHO DOES SOME COCKY GESTURES LIKE THAT BUT TO ME, IT DOESN’T GET TO ME BECAUSE I NEVER SHIT TALK ABOUT ANYBODY I JUST LET MY WORK TALK FOR ITSELF. BUT YEAH, ROSE IS THE CHAMPION, JOANNA IS NOT THE STRAWWEIGHT QUEEN.WHEN SHE WINS AGAIN IF SHE WANTS TO CALL HERSELF THAT AGAIN, OKAY. BUT RIGHT NOW SHE’S NOT.”

Joanna Jedrzejczyk after starting her fight career 12-0 has dropped back-to-back fights both to Thug Rose Namajunas. Prior to her current 0-2 streak, Rose had 5 title defenses to Tie Ronda Rousey’s consecutive title defense streak with victories over Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and Jessica Andrade after having won the belt by defeating Carla Esparza at UFC 185
