Sasha Saldana starts professional boxing career with a win

Fans of Cris Cyborg will be familiar with Sasha Saldana as the 24 year old has been a sparring partner for Cris Cyborg in the lead up to several of Cyborg’s MMA and professional boxing fights.   Nila who had competed in amateur boxing finally made her professional boxing debut this month at the Commerce Casino in California.

Facing an experienced boxer from India with a 3-4 professional record named Archana Sharma, Sasha used great aggression and ring control to land effective strikes winning all four rounds 40-36 on all three judges scorecards.   The event also featured a WBA continental Americas Super Featherweight fight that was won by Grimaldi Machuca over the previously undefeated Deonte Brown. Promoted by James Barley and Steve Bash the Boxiest XVI event was shown live on DAZN.

With the win October 10th, Sasha Saldana is already working with promoter Steve Bash of Bash Boxing to get her a fight on his December 13th fight card in Los Angeles against Vana Medrano Yanez.  Sasha Saldanaalready entered the top 10 USA rankings with her victory as the Southpaw from Bellflower California who is now fighting out of Whittier looks to establish herself as one of the top prospects in women’s professional boxing.
