In July Gokhan Saricam became the first PFL athlete to face a suspension by USADA the new Antidoping program for the Professional Fighters League. UFC Veteran Blagoy Ivanov has now become the next fighter to be found with a performance enhancing drug in his system.
Ivanov signed with the PFL following his release from the UFC and was 0-1 in the promotion before news of his ‘out of competition’ violation as a result of a March 28th test which showed positive results for an anabolic agent. USADA officially announced the news today.
As a result of his positive test USADA gave Ivanov a 22 month suspension while noting that he received a reduced period of ineligibility because he fully corporate with the investigation. USADA provides year round testing for the professional fighters league.
