The Professional Fighters League is back with a huge tournament for 2025 which will be a Grand Prix style, win and advance tournament without the points and playoffs previously scene by the league structure. With 64 fighters competing in a single elimination tournament the season officially begins April 3rd in Orlando Florida with live broadcasts on ESPN in the USA and DAZN internationally.
The first round of tournament action will all take place at the Universal Studios in Orlando Florida being held April 3rd, April 11th, April 18th, and May 1st. In order to become Champion and receive the 500,000$ bonus fighters will need to win 3 consecutive fights. The first and second round bouts will consist of 3 rounds of 5 minutes while the finals will be 5 rounds of 5 minutes with elbows being allowed throughout the tournament for the first time in PFL MMA history.
The Heavyweight Tournament features some standout names including: Valentin Moldavsky, Alexander Romanov, Oleg Popov, Linton Vassell, Sergey Bilostenniy, Tim Johnson, Poua Rahmani, and Abraham Bably. The Light Heavyweight division tournament will feature; Phil Davis, Rob Wilkinson, Karl Moore, Marcelo Nunes, Antonio Carlos Jr, Simeon Powell, Karl Albrektsson, Sullivan Cauley, with alternates being Alex Polizzi and Rafael Xavier.
In total the tournament will award more than 2o million dollars in fight purses. With that type of money on the line you know there are going to be some exciting fights as each fighter knows that it is win and advance or lose and go home.
