Cris Cyborg might have just started her career as a professional boxer, but with 20 years in Combat Sports she is no rookie in the world of fighting. A multiple time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion and a 17x MMA World Champion, Cris Cyborg is attempting to do something that has never been done in combat sports, winning a Boxing World Championship at the same time as holding a Mixed Martial Arts World Championships.
Traveling to Santa Marta Colombia, Cyborg returned to the ring this past Monday with a 4 round showcase fight against the #1 ranked Super Middleweight female fighter in the country of Colombia Karen Fernandez with a stellar performance. Showcasing a strong jab in the first round which allowed her to control the distance, Cyborg turned up the pressure in round 2 dropping her opponent with bodyshots twice before the ref eventually awarded her the 2nd round KO.
