UFC 300 was a spectacular event from beginning to end and took place in front of a record sold out crowd at the Tmobile arena.  While the main event featured Brazilian Alex Pereira defeat Jamahal Hill by KO and Zhang Weili defeat Yan Ziaonan in the Co Main Event, most people found the KO by Max Holloway as he defeated Justin Gaethje with .1 seconds remaining in the 5th and final round to win the BMF belt.

On the prelims was a matchup Cyborg Nation was most interested in as Holly Holm was facing Kayla Harrison in a bout where Cris Cyborg had helped Holly Holm prepare for the fight by spending 5 weeks training at JacksonWink MMA as a part of her training camp.

Unfortunately the fight went the way the betting odds had predicted as Kayla was able to get a quick takedown, after a reversal by Holly Holm however Judo Kayla found herself on bottom before working her way back to the standing position.  Holly rather than disengaging from the clench looked for an outside trip which was reversed placing her in bottom half guard with around 3.30 minute left.  Utilizing good GNP Kayla was able to score with big strikes until Holly eventually recovered guard and was able to make it through the round

round 2 was off to another quick start with the two fighters ending in the clench position where Kayla was able to secure the elbow of Holly and elevate her with a foot sweep to secure the top position where she progressed to the fight ending submission.

Cyborg who attended UFC 300 in Las Vegas had this to say about the fight, “Holly is a legend and her legacy is already established in this sport as one of the legends, She made a few tactical decisions that allowed Judo Kayla to put the fight where she has the advantages.  I think my wrestling gives problems for her, we have already seen what happens when she is forced to stand with Larissa Pacheco.   Kayla Harrison lost to Larissa Pacheco last year in the finals of the Featherweight Grad Prix.

Cyborg is currently scheduled to fight April 27th in Green Bay Wisconsin as the main event of Green Bay Fight Night in her return to professional boxing.  Fans who are wanting to see Cris Cyborg box professionally can get their tickets here.
