After a bit of speculation the UFC has now announced Nordic Grappling sensation Gunnar Nelson will face Colorado’s Neil Magny at UFC Liverpool. For Gunner Nelson after going 3-3 in his last 6 fights he will be looking to put together some momentum against Neil Magny. Losing a close decision to Ricky Story, Gunner Nelson went on to submit Brandon Thatch rather easily before being out worked by Demian Maia and losing another decision. After back to back wins against Albert Tumenov and Alan Jouban, Gunnie suffered a KO loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio in his first Main Event.
Magney will be looking to continue the momentum he picked up at UFC 219 when he beat Carlos Condit by decision after a quick loss to RDA at UFC 215. Magney who has wins over Kelvin Gastelum, Hector Lombard, and Johnny Hendricks is looking to continue his rise back up the ranks and earn a title shot in the welterweight division.

Who do you think will have the advantage here? Neil Magny while not having the same grappling credentials of Gunnar Nelson has shown great improvements with his floor skills. Will Gunnar Nelson look to keep the fight standing after his last fight? Leave your comments in the section below.
