Dione Barbosa takes home 50,000$ bonus after UFC Vegas victory

UFC Fight Night returned to Las Vegas as the main event showcased Lerone Murphy against Josh Emmett. Emmett who showed moments of strength lost a 5 round decisin to Lerone Murphy who kept his perfect record moving on to 16-0. Pat Sabatini earened a decision over Joanderson Brito but for many fans who follow Cris Cyborg the highlight of the event was Dione Barbosa.

Barbosa who helped Cris Cyborg prepare for Bellator MMA Championship fights while earning a reputation competing in LFA eventually scored a UFC contender series shot and got a victory giving her a contract into the UFC. A first round win over Rainn Guerrero and a UFC debut victory over Ernesta Kareckaite saw Barbosa step up in competition against Miranda Maverick as she accepted the bout on short notice.

Following a canceled fight against Yasmin Jauregui, Barbosa was then booked against 7 fight UFC Veteran Diana Belbita. Controlling the center of the cage Barbosa used good long range strikes to establish her presence before integrating several elbow strikes as she crashed into close range. Eventually working a takedown Dione Barbosa passed directly to mount before securing the Head and arm submission at 4:13 of the first round. With the victory Dione Barbosa was given the UFC Fight Night performance bonus.
